A Family Picnic

Luke's gospel related the experience of two disillusioned followers who walked away from Jerusalem on Easter. Jesus caught up to them, explained the Scriptures to them, and broke bread with them. In the end, the two recognized Jesus had indeed risen from the dead. Many bible scholars point to these verses as a blueprint for Sunday worship. We hear God's word explained to us, and we break bread to experience the Lord.

Sunday would be a good time for a picnic in the park. On the way to the park, have a family member read Luke 24:13-35. After your family sets up the food for the meal, pray to recognized Jesus in the meal you share and in the company you keep. Then enjoy the day with your family.
