Results of the Beatitudes

Matthew's Beatitudes are some of the best known verses in Scripture. They describe our spiritual goals: to stand humbly before God, to seek and obey the divine will, and to be willing to undergo persecution for a Christian lifestyle.

Present the Beatitudes as goals to your family. Have family members take a "result" of one Beatitude and draw it as if the person was in heaven. Then ask how your family can act now to obtain the goal. (For example, "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." The goal might be planting a garden in heaven. Instead of fruit or vegetables, the garden could be human hearts. How could our family members grow hearts for heaven?)
