A Family Sharing Meal

Jesus gathered his followers together. Suddenly there was a hungry, tired crowd. With faith the help of a small boy's picnic, Jesus fed 5,000 men and their families. So little could feed so many. It all started with sharing.

Family meal time is important for reconnecting relationships, sharing news, strengthening bonds. But have your family ever gather together for a meal that could help others? Plan one evening to have a simple meal (vegetable soup, bread, and fresh fruit might be a good choice). Invite your family members to bring items or monies they would like to donate to the poor (even the smallest item would help). Praise God for the gifts of your family and the gift of the meal. A family trip to the agency to which you would like to donate the items might be appropriate.
