Family Activity A Family Lenten CalendarThis short gospel sums up the idea of Lent. A period of forty days to prepare through self-denial. A time to "repent and believe in the Good News." A Lenten calendar is a great way to emphasize the length of time and the themes of this holy season. Create a calendar on colored paper for the next seven weeks. Write one or two activities you would like to do as a family in each of the next seven weeks. Include activities of extra prayer, self-denial, and charity. Vary the activities (include the activities on this sheet if you wish). Post the calendar in a common place for all to see.
