"Heaven is Like..." Poster

What will people be like in the final resurrection? In a dispute with the Sadducees, Jesus answered that question. People will be like angels! Unlike our modern notions of angels as pure spirit, Jesus referred to an Old Testament idea of angels. According to the ancient Hebrews, angels had bodies, but they were refined and immortal, unlike ours. Such angels (with bodies) had no reason to procreate, since they lived forever with God. They never suffered from disease, or did they have want.

To communicate this idea with your family, draw you and your family members as angels. Use construction paper if you wish to add color. Cut out your drawings and paste them on a poster of a large throne (representing God the Father). Label the poster “Heaven.” Ask your family members what heaven is like and how they could serve God in heaven.
